Entre Líneas
Entre Líneas is born from the archive of multidisciplinary artist Gabriel Sánchez Viveros who lived in the Middle East for 15 years. While living there, he managed to develop several projects as an architect having members of the royal family Saudi Arabia as some of his clients. However, he was always a foreigner in search of getting used to his new daily life. Upon returning to Mexico, Gabriel decides to resume this project with a new look.
The artist seeks to represent a foreign view of everyday life as well as cultural, religious and aesthetic contrasts, addressing the mysterious look behind the burkas and Mashrabiya, questioning the viewer's position.
In this body of work we can see that some of the pieces are manually intervened with lines, which seek to address the issue of the religious, representing that the dazzling is part of the daily life in the Middle East.
With this collection we can appreciate the richness of cultures technically approached in different ways to present a coherent work that addresses the architectural look of the artist, as well as images of the newspaper live in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Kuwait.
