ROT
ROT is a photographic and pictorial series by the artist Gabriel Sánchez Viveros.
It is about exploring natural forms that when taken out of context acquire new readings. In this series, the cacti and the orchids suggest corporeal forms, red and alive.
There is a dialogue between the pictorial and the photographic, on one hand the photographs insinuate a body and on the other, the paintings are made with the body. Both supports represent the unique characteristics of a being that feels and lives. In this series, it is important to immerse yourself in the shapes of each stroke and of each shadow, is a series to see beyond the obvious, pay attention to feel each shape and the contrast with your eyes.
In this series, man returns to the primitive honoring nature and its surprising forms but also marking a piece of time with his body. These are images that contain movement and dynamism in which the artist leaves embodied what makes him unique and what only belongs to him: his footprints.
