Primitivo
The artist Gabriel Sánchez Viveros presents the Primitivo exhibition as a result of the development of his series D-Evolution of 2015 and El Origen of 2016, in which the theme of the origin of life, ideas and things was addressed.
Primitivo is an installation made from body paintings in which the artist proposes a reflection on the first time man was aware of himself and also on the need for transcendence and legacy that has characterized our species.
Who is the man who is embodied in these paintings?
This man is he and he is all of us, he is the stamp of pure, naked nature, it is a trace of a unique time, it is the materialization of the desire to remain, to want to be part of history, it is the reflection of the most primitive human condition.
This series addresses the expressiveness of movement through the body and color. It is not a representation of movement, but the trace of the true movement.
The artist sought to use elements that communicate in a pure and sensitive way a reflection on the consciousness of the human. That is why he chose the amate paper which is a handmade paper of natural fibers combined with red body prints that in the symbolic plane represents life (blood and fire), and which is also a color that refers us to danger, to the vulnerability of the human being against nature.
